What is SPD?

SPID is the Public Digital Identity System that guarantees all citizens and businesses a unique, safe and secure access to the digital services of the Public Administration and private adhering entities.

How do you get SPID?

The SPID identity is issued by the Digital Identity Providers (Identity Provider – IdP), private entities accredited by AgID who, in compliance with the rules issued by the Agency, provide digital identities and manage user authentication. You can request the SPID identity from the manager you prefer and that best suits your needs. The manager, after verifying your data, issues the digital identity, releasing the credentials.

In addition to a valid identity document, the manager you will contact will also ask you for your health card or, if you are not entitled to it, your tax code card. It may seem like a strange request, but it isn’t. These badges are not used to know your tax code (it can be calculated, it is present in the electronic identity card), but they are one of the elements to combat identity theft. The manager, in fact, will check if that specific card actually corresponds to that specific person.

It may seem like an unnecessary complication, but it doesn’t, it helps protect us from identity theft.

As of 21 August 2021, the Digital Identity Managers who provide the SPID digital identity are:
